Norfolk Construction
I am currently in the process of creating a map of Norfolk that would include the locations of current projects. I am hoping to include proposed projects in the future as well. Also in, mixed in, are areas that I think could benefit from redevelopment. Currently, I just have the Downtown area worked on. I would like assistance with this project. If you know of a construction project that I do not have listed, please send me the name and a detailed description of the location. If you see that I have missed a feature that absolutely cannot be redeveloped and should be marked in red, let me know as well. Anything else, let me know. I want this to be as up-to-date and comprehensive as possible. Please let me know if you have a suggestion or change. Once I get further along, I will also post the file as a KML file for use in Google Earth
Current Key:
Green = Developed Downtown
Red = Area that cannot/should not be redeveloped
Yellow = Potential Developable area
Blue = Public Housing Projects
Purple = Projects Under Construction
Blue Line = Generally Accepted Downtown Boundary
Orange Line = LRT Line

Not sure if you’ve seen this site but I thought it might be helpful to you as you begin to think of ideas for your construction page. Please check out the website below and do some exploring. It’s really cool the way Ken has his site structured. For example, if you click on the “downtown districts” tab, you can keep “zooming” in by clicking on the map until you see specific project info for that area.

Wow. This is some great work and a lot of effort. I will be sure to let you know if I hear of anything but I suspect you will know of things way before I do with your thumb on the pulse. Thanks for doing this.
